The magic of the resurrection…

When Jesus realized that the noose of the authorities was imminent, he at first was distraught, and spent a night in the Garden of Gethsemane asking god to intervene and establish him as King and Messiah of the Jews.

When no response was forthcoming, he hatched a diabolical plan, where he convinced his disciples that he would return as King, after his death but in their lifetime, provided they followed his instructions to the letter…

1. Jesus pre-arranged for his body to be taken off the cross much earlier than usual, and be placed in a specific tomb…

2. To get past the guards at the tomb: There was a secret ‘backdoor’ tunnel access to that tomb, or the guards were bribed to leave their post, claiming an earthquake, which they would not redact for fear of their lives, as deserters…

3. The reason there was no body in the tomb three days later: The eleven/twelve disciples had eaten his body, in that time, and escaped back out the tunnel or out the front. Remember Jesus’ instructions just before his arrest, when he commanded his disciples to eat his body and drink his blood. It’s right there in black and white. (The original Fear Factor)…

4. They left behind a robed and hooded ‘angel’ and sent some hysterical, gullible women to the tomb, to be told that Jesus had risen…

5. The cover up and misdirection, to frustrate any investigation by the authorities into the missing body: Each disciple claimed that they had seen Jesus after the crucifixion…in a different location around Israel.

In a crowd, one disciple would put on Jesus’ robe and hood, and by firelight, walk through the group, while the other disciples screamed, There is Jesus! and as soon as they got around the corner, that disciple would ditch and hide the robe in a clay pot, and stroll back into the group exclaiming that Jesus had just walked past him…

6. The natural conclusion in those ignorant superstitious times: Jesus had been resurrected!

7. The disciples kept to their story over the years, waiting for Jesus’ return but wrote nothing down. They studied the ‘prophesies’ in the Old Testament, and hobbled together the idea of Jesus as a human sacrifice, due to return any day. However, after their deaths, their followers wrote down what they had been told by the original disciples

8. The cult meandered for hundreds of years, but when the Roman Emperor Constantine colluded with them to assimilate or eliminate the confusion of competing cults in the empire, and made their small cult an official state religion, giving them a Palace  and unlimited power..they eliminated all who would not assimilate, and well, as they say…the rest is the bloody ‘history’ of religion
